From Truro to Glasgow, audiences will enjoy a 16-piece chamber orchestra, arranged by Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conductor Patrick Bailey. Performing festive favourites and timeless film soundtracks from classics such as Home Alone, Love Actually, Muppet Christmas Carol, The Nutcracker, Polar Express, Harry Potter, Bridget Jones’s Diary, and Elf, the evening will also feature a dazzling light show for an unforgettable festive experience!

One of Dartmouth’s most recognisable buildings, the Royal Castle, has reopened its doors following an extensive nine-month refurbishment by St Austell Brewery.

Dating back to the 17th century and sitting proudly on the harbour front, the pub with rooms has been thoughtfully restored to honour its heritage while introducing a fresh, contemporary feel throughout.

All 24 bedrooms – many with sweeping views over the Dart Estuary – have been completely reimagined, drawing inspiration from the coastal landscape. Expect soft, sandy pinks, oceanic greens and earthy reds, alongside historic artworks and prints by local artist Kim Carlow. Timber floors, original windows and wood panelling have been carefully preserved and repurposed.

Pocketful of Stones has re-released Dr Squid Gin following a surge in demand... Created with 100% natural ingredients, Dr Squid Gin is distilled with real squid ink, sea buckthorn, eucalyptus, angelica root, blue pea flower and hibiscus.

A more savoury option, Dr Squid pours black, but when mixed with tonic, it transforms into a vivid pink spectacle thanks to the pH of tonic water. To taste, it has a sharp yet fruity flavour, with notes of the sea, citrus and spice.

The Wellington in Boscastle, one of Cornwall’s oldest coaching inns, has reopened this week following a transformational refurbishment.

The pub sits in the heart of the historical quaint harbour village amongst towering clifftops, perfectly placed to make the most of the dramatic coastline with walks along the South West Coast Path and its proximity to the nearby town of Tintagel, famed for its association with King Arthur and castle on the cliff. The pub features 14 beautifully refreshed rooms and three apartments, including turret rooms, making the most of the pub’s unique castle-esque features. Each room draws inspiration from the surrounding landscapes, blending charm with modern comforts, and 10 are dog-friendly.

Guests can enjoy a dedicated restaurant area, flexible first-floor spaces along with The Spy Glass in the existing turret which can be booked for private functions, and The Chart Room which leads out to the first-floor terrace, along with a new ground-floor accessible outdoor seating area to make the most of alfresco dining and drinking after exploring.
